For 20 years, I served in the U.S. military. After that, I spent 2 years as a firefighter and 5 years as a police officer. Across all three careers, one truth remained the same: the stress, the lack of sleep, the aches and pains, and the weight of responsibility never really let up.
I saw firsthand how my brothers and sisters in service pushed through day after day, often with little focus on their own recovery and wellness.
